CNY 2009 - Family Celebration 24 Jan 09

Hehe... happy belated CNY to all!!!

i was busy celebrating, eating, slacking, enjoying myself and took a day or 2 just to sort and upload the pics (haven include the contents yet).....

was beri bloated today and i can't sleep with a heavy stomach.... my stomach is getting rounder..... why? not becuz i m pregnant.... but.... becuz there is really alot of food!!!!

Lets begin my usual grumblings ...

as there is a mass celebration on sat and sun before CNY, so i can oni celebrate with my monkey earlier than tat, which is fri. hahaa.... i wanted to have a homely reunion with him la.. cuz we are considered a family here in US ma... since our families are more than a thousand miles away

Another main reason, i wan us to have a feel of CNY even when we are away from home. CNY is a beri impt occasion to Chinese. One year oni once. There is a chinese saying "Yi Nian Zhi Ji Zai Yu Chun" so the 1st part of the yr is beri impt... Everyone shd oso noe the dinner symbolises "Tuan Yuan" aka reunion... unity etc...

after the spring cleanings, pastry bakings and many preparations...... the day of our CNY celebrations finally started!!!!!

he gotta work on fri.. but i already got the menu planned... and of cuz, as part of the auspicious and routine of CNY, i already filled the rice bin, salt/oil/sauce containers and stuffed the fridge full full with food. In sg, we stock up cuz CNY not much pple selling food, here ang mohs dun care CNY so all restaurants are open but i dun care, must have the Kiasu Singaporean Spirit! :)

I am proud to annouce that all these food are prepared by chef Lian alone! :)

2 persons eat all these abit too much hor? but its meant to be alot one... cuz must have leftovers... meaning last yr earn too much till got surplus for nx yr.. its an auspicious meaning la...

I m becoming more domestic and auntie liao... but for the sake of our roots (CNY i mean), its ok....
