My Cookings!

ok, its been almost 2 mths i reached US and into the life of yellow-face-wife.

kitchen is my territory, cooking is my responsibility, grocery shopping is my mandate.

haha..... i used to worry that i am unable to adapt, or rather switch from a "career women" (not beri career but can say OL) lifestyle to a erm.... auntie lifestyle... in nicer words is called "tai tai"... haha... but after 2mths of surviving from cooking every wkdays, none of us had much wasted food nor had any diareahoer. haha... tat is good news... anyhow say i oso champion in my sec sch cooking competition okie! (*let me be proud abit* :P)


monkey is nice enuff to understand my "xin-ku-ness" so everywkend, we will dine out, when he is at break, me too! :)

but special thanks to my mum and mum-in-law who teached me a few simple dishes, that can aid me sometimes when i ran out of ideas. if oni i had more time away from work before i come, i should have grab the chance to learn more!

nvm.... i still managed to "invent" new dishes to survive.... i dun repeat menus in the same wk, otherwise eat liao oso sianz...

Chicken rice!!! why is it in big thigh meat? cuz its more tender... and i didn't use whole chicken cuz i dun wan to chop it.... haha... my chopping skill cannot la...

Cereal Prawns!!! this one abit special, cuz its without shells de! why? becuz easier to eat. when monkey brings this to work for his lunch bento, he dun need to waste time peel shells and can just eat happily. I very considerate hor? hehe... hahaha... but poor me.. peel the shells till my hands going to rot liao...

I call it the Olympics cooking. haha... bittermelon with minced meat (good for heatiness), minced meat with dark soy sauce, fishball soup and the al-famous tomatoes prawns (taught by my mum-in-law)!!!

Where am I?

Hi all…. Sorry for the super late post… hehe.. I know a lot of pple had been asking me to blog/update my blog… my friends, my ex-colleagues and my pet doggie. Doggie was the one who made the most noise in the “comments” of my previous post… cuz his msn got prob and my blog was the oni channel he could complain to. Haha

Btw, I believe most of my regular readers had already known that I am now in US. YES, United States of America, Arizona. Some brief explanation, my hubby (yes, I got ROMed ½ yr ago) aka monkey was posted here for work, so I am here. Big sacrifice hor?!

I think I missed out something… monkey actually flew in end mar… I only joined 3mths later… haha… so both of us missed each other for 3mths… why? Cuz of work lor… but good la…. Monkey very nice.. he come with the batch, he already packed the apartment clean, get car, set up accounts for bank, electric, internet and etc… so nice…. Hehe.. nice monkey hubby… muacks!!! So I come here I can be tai tai…. Hehe.. but then I have to fly on my own….ooops…

Why did I keep delaying my blog? Becuz, last yr, I’ve been busy with work, studies, dating and gatherings (MANY GATHERINGS!!!). Then this year, busy with ROM, CNY and relocation and gatherings and farewell parties. So I purposely dun blog, until I reach Arizona (AZ)… becuz I know I will have nothing but all the time here, to blog blog blog… Oh, in case you wonder, I am not supposed to work in US, becuz my permit says so. People asked me to study… well…. Had checked some master degree courses… the cost kills… somemore in USD!!!! So…. I think I will shake leg, adapt to the culture, jet lag, find some short-time courses…. Oh yes…. The first thing I should do is my driving licence!!! But hor… the moment I open the theory, I read read read then I see zzzz….

Haha…. I will update on the gatherings later…….

Let this post start with the day of my flight to US… The day before my flight, I stayed at home to have a simple dinner with my family as planned. Why? Becuz I been out there having gatherings and farewell almost every wkday and wkend… so my tummy already eat until… erm….. and didn’t have time for my family… so I told my friends not to arrange any programs on sat becuz I need to rest at home and be with my family…. Most imptly…. Pack my luggage!!!!!!

Haha…. Sounds terrible right…. Having a long flight for a long stay (2years) and the luggage was packed only the day before?!!?! Mainly it was becuz of work, really too busy to clear leave, and too many gatherings…. I had dumped some clothes in the check-in luggage at first… but always (only those who travel long distance will understand) at the min when I wan to zip my luggage, I find new things to put in… and my mama oso stuffed me a soft toy panda (kungfu panda!!!!)….. pengz… so many things… so I had to sacrifice this soft toy tat my colleague gave

After having a whole nite fighting with my luggage (lucky got my mama help me), I realized I dun have time to sleep!!! Cuz my flight is in the morning 730!!!! So I go bathe and get ready…. Everyone set off at 445am….

Reached T3 at 5plus am…. Then saw my in-laws…. I go check in first…my chk-in luggage over 20kg!!!! Pengz… hengz dun need to pay extra… then my ex colleagues lao zhu (QS) and ruixi (FY) reach… then followed by maju friends Patrick, jess, amy and my cousin in law Wenyu… wenyu still gave me a gift... i said no no no... cuz my chk-in luggage no space and overloaded... handcarry lugguage worse!!!! haha... no space to squeeze, unzip liao can't zip back.... haha.... really very touched for all to take mid-nite cab early in the morning of a sweet Sunday when everyone should be in bed sleeping… thanks people for the thoughts and time! And of cuz… not forgetting the 3G call by doggie who could not make it cuz of his night shift… Actually I didn’t want too many pple to come and send me off… cuz its really too early and then mid-nite cab not cheap… taxi fare keep increasing in Sg leh!!! And if too many pple come…. I oso pai-seh, later cry how? So hengz my uncles, aunties, and other frds didn’t come…. Want to come… nx time okie? When you all receive my red invitation… hehe

Well… when it was time to go in… I had to… scare my mama will cry if I delay any further… cuz its near 645am and I still outside bye bye-ing… I had a pal – ms jm who is traveling together to “千里寻夫” … haha.. cuz we were both spouses who didn’t fly together with our hubbies… but we were not arranged to be seated together… well, at least we were on the same flight… so we still got a company during the transits…

So after 20 plus hrs of flying in the air, transiting at Narita (Jap) and San Fran, we finally reached AZ…. The air here was…..unbelievably HOT!!!! It was 45 or 46 degrees Celsius!!!!! Can u believe it? In Singapore… at most 34 or 35 degrees and I already melting… here its not so humid but the wind blown also even hot air!!!!!! Pengz…

But I am beri happy to see my monkey again after 3mths…. The very first thing I wan to do is to…. ASK HIM CARRY my luggages!!!! Haha…. Am also thankful that his colleagues and whole family came to pick me up oso… cuz they scare monkey lost his way…. Haha… then monkey drove me to our apartment… first time taking his car wor…. Then we all meet up with the 2 families and had dinner…. The day I reached, it rained! In the desert, it is considered rare… but a short shower only, and it left a lot of water stains for the cars that were parked unsheltered… no one wld had expected the rain…. Haha

So happy for the warm welcome…. I feel the hugs of AZ…. Nice and polite pple… outgoing and fun pples….

So what had kept me busy? Hmm…. Nua at home.. hide from summer… Surf net… cook…. Watch online film… play online games (viwawa, neopets, orangeshark)… swimming…. go out with the tai tais…. Go out with hubby shopping… gatherings with the other families…. Play mj… hehe…. And as explained earlier, I was waiting for my shipment to come (12 boxes!!!) so that when my desktop is set-up, I can blog easier… fyi, I dun like to blog using laptop, cuz the keyboard is softer…..not very used to it…

ah.... ok... will post the pics of my cookings later oso.. hehe...

Hmm… I really dun like to blog… cuz it already took me an hour to type this post… haiz… AZ is 15hrs behind SG time… so its almost 4am now!!! Then how? Hehe… to be continued…



TO DOGGIE: no friends? Go make la! And dun BARK! Speak human! Be friendly and not appear dao! Then u will have friends… dun throw ur master’s face…. Faster know more pple… know more gals… else u will be “wild dog” for 2years with oni loneliness to accompany u….
