Its Been 1 Year in US le...

Today is exactly one year since i reached US Arizona... hmm...

Its still as hot cuz Jun is summer.... still remember last year when i finally touched down from a 20hr plus of flight... my first reaction is... turn back and take the nx plane home! CUZ ITS BURNING HOT!!! hahaa

the sunset here takes an hr.... and the sky is still blue at 8pm!!!! pengz...

took this beautiful sunset with my hp.... not so clear... but... my house always got such good views until i think... i will not wan to see sunset u noe... hahaa

k la... one shot updated 4 blog entries beri tiring... so i shall blog more abt the differences and thoughts for my 1yr stay in US compared to Sg's life.....nx time...soon... heheee

the below are somethings tat i can think of which i bought from vegas, posted as promised... bought the correlle dining sets at the outlet, 2 sets for my future home... hehee.... got an additional discount from the coupons i pre-printed.... hehe.. jer see i buy, she oso buy... but she buy heartstone one.... rich.. anyway, i prefer this.. cuz simpler and lighter.... and corelle is already a beri established brand... exp in sg... hahaa

My "Detachment" - Tai Tai for 2wks

People all think tat i come US, can slack and be tai tai. Dun need to work, everyday shake legs at home. But they are only half correct.

Wives like me, really dun need to work, cuz our Visa is not working permit. We oso everyday stay at home, but not shake legs, cuz have to cook and do homechorus, faithfully guai guai wait for hubby to come home. As for slacking, ya, when hubby at work, i slack lor.. but he still will come back ma!!!! So how to be a tai tai!?!? cannot go out shopping as and when i like!!! cuz he drove the car to work and dun wan to buy me a car!!!! ARGH!!!

so, i wish fairy godmother will use her magic wand and make me a real tai tai. There r many chances. Many detachment chances for the guys. My monkey is supposed to go, but somehow for many reasons, he did not.

SO, while other wives are enjoying their tai tai life while they hubbies slog their life at other states working for 2 wks, I, the poor maid have to SLOG at home, cooking and cooking and life carry on as USUAL, no change! seeing other gals going out havod, i beri envy...

THEN.... i decided... since he nv go detachment last mth... i WILL GO!!! HAHAHAAA...

But of cuz.. not to go other states to work.. but make myself disappear from my maid life at home...

Kinda pai seh to say, i had been mixing with my gals (other wives here), having chit chat sessions, gatherings, makan session, shopping and PLAYING MAHJIONG! hahaaa... leaving the poor monkey washing clothes and folding them at home when i m out playing MJ till dawn! hahaa... but i still kind la.... will bring him out for dinner.. if i cook at home, i will get the gals to come over.. if my gals cook at their place.. i will bring my monkey and my own rice pot along (cuz he eats so much rice i have to cook extra)...

And for the 2 wks.. i accomplished so much things tat are all so shiok!!!! Dining out oso shiok! Dunno for tat 2wks.. how many times we dined at King Egg Roll liao... hahaa

High Tea at Jer's House

Winson wanted to learn how to make egg tarts. So Jer the teacher jioed all of us over for high tea, pot luck... but this high tea hor.. is beri chinese... hahaa...


See all the dishes... peng kueh, egg tarts, you tiao, tou suan, deep fried cauliflower kueh, apple crumbles, mickey mouse shape sandwiches.. and of cuz.. TEA....

Merry msned me the nite before, asking me wads my plan for the day, so i told her having gathering at Jer's house. She asked me to jio elaine(staying at her house for the wk) cuz she is bored. i tot elaine is having fun with baby issac and her so nv jioed her for the past events... elaine.. if u r reading this, pai seh for not jioing u in the first place leh!!! but since Merry already said tat, and elaine is my frd and oso from the same trade, i will definately jio her for the high tea de.. but of cuz.. not my house... i must ask Jer first... too bad merry doesn't wants to join us.... so elaine came alone... cute mrs chua in her bright pink dress so bright tat we have to make special arrangements for the phototaking... hahaa

After tat, monkey and i went to watch "A nite at the museam 2" with Jm, winson and jer. We ladies, then went to Jm's house for MJ till morning... hahaa... told u it was my detachment le...

Dinner at Apple Bee

Then sometime later, we decided to go Apple Bees for dinner.. i nv been there before.. always wanted to go there when my hubby is away for detachment cuz he dun like western food tat much.. but anyway.. dun care la.. i had waited long enuff... hahahaaa...

The oreo milkshake recommended by Ser is really NICE!!! thinking of it... *drools*

Their starter is abit scary.. as in the food portion.. luckily we went in a big grp.... else.... how to finish?

The onion rings are all so big.. and mind u, its oni part of the starters!!!!

Tai Tai Outing/Shopping

Since i m determined to enjoy myself as a real "tai Tai" during this "detachment".... we organsied one outing... Dress code is Dress, all must doll up.. and we went to this italian restaurant tat Lily and hema they all highly recommended half yr ago.... hehee.... Olive Garden.... i had been waiting for u!!!

AWWWWw..... my tiramisu.. the best i ever had so far in AZ... its even better than the Cheesecake factory one in my opinion!!!! Gals, when can we go there again?

Okie, enuff said.. after tat, we went shopping at TJ Max and Ross... just these 2 shops already took the entire afternoon... hahaa.....

We went to Ross for dunno how many times during the detachment period.. and i like the experience there, Big changing room, cheap and nice good quality clothing, and the company of cuz! Jm and Jer wore the same size with me... so each of us took 8 pcs of dresses for trying, and then swop with each other so we tried alot more! hahaa.. elaine look nice in every dresses she tried cuz of the slim figure.. and we sai ko her to buy everything... she becomes the champion everything... hahaa.... but she beri nice la... she is our fashion consultant.... she choosed and took in alot of dresses for us to try... when finished trying 8pcs, she brings in another 8pcs.. pengz.... like the big "runway" for us to model our dresses... hahaa.... we share and give opinions to each other... gals can be happy easily!

this is for leisure wear of cuz... kinda translucent but looks good with a black little tube inside... and the rubber on the waist makes me looks thinner... yeah!

i bought 2 shorts oni to realise tat they are almost the same style but diff color... haha... summer coming..

My 2nd Vegas Trip - Memorial Day 2009

Oooops.. my "soon to blog" becomes half a mth.. haha

been busy la.. till now, i haven sort out my shopping loots from LV..... so haven got chance to snap the pics of my buyings yet... will upload later when i remember... hahaa

So i better start now else i will nv blog....

k, we rented a car with BT and Selina.... hotel rm booked earlier at Nelis, CHEAP AND GOOD!!!!

Day 1

We set off when the sun rises, Selina caught me "replenishing" my energy... haha


Stopped at Burger King for toilet break and breakfast.... i noe alot of pple going on the same day as well and the all famous Mac shd be flooded by Sgeans... hahaa

Reached Hoover Dam... think Transformers2 didn't come here... but its my vegas Trip 2.. so wasn't as excited as first trip... miss Jess and willy they all :(


But since already here... took the chance to snap few pics.... since this is a significant border btn the state Nevada (in case u dunno, Vegas is a city in Nevada) and Arizona..


i m seriously glad to have my oakley shades with me...


Saw Shirley who reached Hoover Dam at the same time with us... Take pic together with her Prince Liew in her tummy!!! SMILEZ!




When reached Vegas finally, mr monkey got lost becuz his beri Beri beri smart GPS cannot detect Ah Chong Mian Xian..... but hengz, i noe alot of pple going oso.. so just a call to my beloved mint, and we got the address to reach there in one piece...

LUNCH AT AH ZHONG!!!


My second time here oso... the infamous Ah Zhong Mian Xian... sorry, my hp not good, the mian xian now looks like little worms.. haha.. but the bubble tea (they called it boba tea) in the background still makes me drool..


Then we went to our Hotel and chk in! Wonderful room with 2 king size beds, 2 wardrobes, 2 full length mirror, 2 iron boards and etc... i wonder why we booked 2 rooms for 2 couples... one rm is really big enuff for 2 couples! but anyway.. its cheap.. oni USD39 per nite! :)

After that, we went shopping at Las Vegas Outlet Centre! At least its fully air conditioned! Hengz ar... and Selina beri funny one... she wan to sleep wan to sleep but when wan to reach the outlets, she from far can see the signs and still direct us somemore.. better than GPS! haha... Selina!!! If u r reading this, u might be laughing oso rite? haha... U WIN!!! :P

After a long battle and card bleeding session at the outlets... time for dinner... went to a chinese restaurant (forgot wads the name) but its too crowded, too hungry to wait so we went back to the Ah ZHong address, had dinner at the Penang Cuisine Restaurant abv Ah Zhong..

I m sorry for not taking those mouth drooling pictures cuz.. we were all too hungry.. haha.... tats the oni pic i can capture..


After tat, we went nite walking at the strip.. actually... i already taken most of the pics on my first trip.. so i wan to go M&M World...

But it closes at 12am sharp.. by the time we walked till there... we have oni 15mins left.. ya, we purposely parked our car nearby but the strip is too crowded and plus stationary for taking pics... we reached there quite late...

Its really a colorful shop... 4 storeys full of M&Ms.. haha... we oni managed to comb level 1 and 2... level 3 and 4 have to wait nx time lor...

Reached hotel quite late... had a tiring day already..

Day 2

We had brunch at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets... this outlet is bigger, but the exterior (corridors of the shops) are not air conditioned.. so must hide in the shops and spend money... hahaha

See how much we bought? The grey Oakley bag infront is the bdae gift i bought for my monkey for his bdae in advance.... i shall not tell u how many of the coach bags belongs to me... haha :P



We met the rest of our trade at the outlets oso... Had dinner together at the famous Mido something sushi... its an exp buffet... but to my dissappointment, there is no salmon sashimi..... SAD!

At nite, we all went to Stratesphere casino to try our luck... see how much monkey won with USD0.10?! its USD19!!!! its a big win... but overall he still lose la... suay monkey!



Played till 2 or 3am... go back dozed off..


Day 3

Rise and Shine, breakfast at Chang's Dim Sum... yummy!!!!

Then while BT and Selina go take more pics, we went back to our M&M world to complete my level 3 and 4... finally!!!!



M&M world got some short movie casting M&M.. haha.. so excitedly, we went for it!

Monkey said his camera sure cannot take the pic of the poster in the dark... to proof to him i can, i on the flash light and ThERE! clear enuff!!!

Some last min photo taking before leaving to the outlet we went on the first day cuz selina and BT wanna get the Samsonite Lugguage...

After roasting ourselves.... back to AZ... and end of my holidays in May...
